Dwarf
1 good with guns, if you like guns.
2 slow poisoned by a rogue? stone skin, gets rid of it, handy too
Night elf
1 shadowmeld, especially good in pvp when flag guarding with a prowling cat, no ones knows you are there
2 1 dodge, eh, its okay, you will be overpowered by warriors 1 more, up to you
Draenei
1 racial heal, awesome, saved me and my pet's behind on several occasions, although later on it gimps out, its a heal, 3 min cooldown, free
2 1 to hit, very cool, only a 20 yard radius though, so especially with hawkeye, your pet wont be seeing it much in combat but you will, and 1 to hit is nice, better than 1 dodge impo
Orc
1 5 beast damage, wanna go full beast tree? theres an option for ya, a free talent right into it, now that all pets are 2.00 base, it has a bigger effect on the hits than say brokentooth
2 pretty sure its a 25 stun resist, that and going survival, 15 resists to stun and 25, you are looking at an orc thats gonna stay in range cause you cant slow it down
trolls
1 +5 bows, just like the dwarf above
2 berzerker rage im not too sure if this is such a good thing, being crit isnt always a good thing when you are supposed to have a pet being crit for you, and im not a hordie, im a draenei hunter, so ill need backup and this one
anyways thats my piece on it, im sure other people can elaborte and correct me etc etc
but once again, there is no preferred class for a hunter, its what you like, if you play a class becuse it has + guns but you hate being short, you are gonna hate your hunter, be what you like for looks and yull do just fine Yup, gonna bring this subject up. Saw there was a topic on it but it was dated pretty far back and there's been some updates and new races since then so wanted to get some Hunter's opinions. Again, I know there is probably a topic about this somewhere but ya know what, I don't have the time to dig through all these posts and find it.
Anyway, here is the question, in your opinions for the Alliance side, which races makes the best hunter and why? What about the Horde side for races?

I have Humar and and an orange boar from Westfall. I was wanting to make my cat full PvP pet: Claw, Bite, Prowl, and Dash. This will obviously leave Growl out of the setup and may be a real problem in PvE leveling situations. I was wanting to get feed back from Hunters that may have tired this, and would like to know if it is a real annoyance or if it is do-able. Please let me know.
Side note: on my boar I have Growl, Charge, Bite, and Gore. Im not a big fan of gore and was thinking of using Dash instead. Am I underestimating Gore?
